Much better than the first. In terms of tone it's more Transformers now than Chronicle. Could pull a 2014 Turtles. Everything is contingent on Lionsgate's marketing. They dragged their feet, now time to put peddle to the metal for the next 2 months.

It's still opening in Beauty and the Beast's shadow, and I've become skeptical of opening weekend projections on the day a new trailer is released, because so many people are talking about it that day, before moving on to the next trailer next week, and that new movie gets all the buzz.  I'll wait a few days, to where the interest levels off to then, and then see where the new projections are.

That is what worries me - that it won't be acceptable to either fans of young adult genre movies like Hunger Games or Divergent, nor to the fans of Power Rangers.  Maybe it won't be strong enough as a young adult film, because it is not as bleak for the characters as that audience would want in a movie.  Yet the most interesting part is the third act's action, and a bunch of it is seen in the new trailer, however, that won't be helpful for Ranger fans who have to sit through the first two acts to get to it.  The two trailers feel as though they are selling separate movies - the first one in October was a typical young adult genre clone, and the other one is trying so hard to sell to the existing fans of Power Rangers.

eh, it was ok.  But even saying that, that's a huge positive considering how everything beforehand looked horrible.  So this may actually do decent numbers

Less than 20% is actually completely possible for something like this... and I'd probably still enjoy it somehow.

Critics will be harsh on this just because of Banks' performance. Her character is supposed to be that hammy, but they're still gonna compare her to DOR JLaw or something. People on Twitter are actually happy because this trailer was campy, which is the true spirit of PR after all.

Rewatched the old trailer and goodness, this was a much better improvement lol. Unfortunately after watching both, they probably won't become Rangers until like the last 20-25 minutes. Could be another origin story with too much origin.

But "I'm black" and "pee in the cup" jokes are legit good so origin part might end up better than Rangers vs Generic Lumbering CGI Monster one.
