After all the negative Maleficent press/buzz prior to release it's nice to see everyone changing their tune http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-milestone-maleficent-crosses-713905

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. Or, for this summer's box office, in the land of 2.2 multipliers, a 3x makes Angelina queen...

That HTTYD2 number is horrible. I really hope it can bust out some late legs. My prediction was 300 million. (before it came out of course)

Thoughts:

Fine for Think Like a Man Too, even though it clearly didn't gain any audience. A very muted opening for Jersey Boys but that had to be a given.

Expected drops for the Jump Street and Dragon sequels. Both appear to be on track for at least $160M each.

Very strong holds for Maleficent (especially), Edge of Tomorrow, and X-Men. The Fault In Our Stars is starting to stabilize after last weekend's predictable plunge. Glad to see Chef is still chugging along, everyone should go see it if they haven't.

And straight-up hellish for The Rover. An $800 PTA, yikes.
