Dragon box office run is so ridiculous that I won't be surprised if it suddenly start grossing negative numbers

Yeah, just imagine people suddenly realizing they want their money back half a month after they've seen the movie.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes should get two weeks, if not three.

But Transformers is already going to get its second this weekend. It'll need to fall like 70% to have any chance to fail to be number one.

Unless, out of nowhere, Dragon 2 builds up the WOM that we've all been talking about and families are all like, hey we'll check it out and then we'll last another 2 weeks...but, no, as someone said, it's more likely people who saw it on OD come back and say REFUND and the theatres will pay them more than the ticket price.

You're right I didn't think about that.

Deadline:

By all accounts (have not yet heard from Paramount) but Transformers: Age of Extinction fell quite short of the $100M mark looking at the numbers this AM, so we were right to question the $100M as it will come in closer to $97.5M for the three-day weekend. Still a good number, but that means that not one picture in the first six months of 2014 has crossed the $100M mark. It remains, however, the highest opening weekend of the year to date.  When will the industry see its first $100M weekend?
