Fuk..  I mean Mal wasnt a terrible movie, but it deserves not to beat Captain America  2 WW.

Shoot actually no film this year deserves too.. Cap is easily the best film of the year.. With close runner ups

in Xmen 2014 and Dragon 2. :) Wow insane and Jolie's Paycheck is going to go up per film now big time.

This film is doing way better than expected and wow will beat Hancock by a huge margin and thats another original

hero film with Will at full power.. Shows you girl power in Bullock and Jolie are unbelievable...

Apes2 probably does. Have you seen it? :P

There was also torrid activity from niche and limited newcomers. Hindi Kick bowed well with a $1.1 million tally while the Tamil Alludu Seenu proved disappointing at $86,200 from 86 engagements. Filipino comedy She’s Dating the Gangster grossed an impressive $222,000 at 48 venues and South Korean thriller The Divine Move had a good start of $46,700 at 11 screens.

Marvel has actually made ScarJo into a BO draw! Unbelievable. Too bad the movie is supposedly dumb.

If you just don't use 100% of your brain when you watch it, it won't seem so dumb.

The lack of dollars going toward animation this summer really highlights the weight that Pixar carries.  It's a big void when they're not there.

True, but Disney Animation could have filled their void if they didn't mark the holiday season as their territory instead. :P

Gurus weekend in review highlights how the lack of animation in number and gross is really effecting this summer - to the tune of over half a billion dollars when compared to last year. Remember how in 2011 everyone was panicking over cars 2 not breaking 200 ( or rejoicing) I think we would be happy with a summer animation making that number this year cause it's not gonna happen - craziness!

Also remember that DM2 was THE animated summer event of last year and not MU. So the summer really benefits from a big animated property, whether it is from Pixar or not. Unfortunately, Dragon didn't prove to be a viable franchise on that level. The main reason why this summer seems this lacklustre, among many others.

Marvel's biggest Box Office draws

1. RDJ

2 Scarlett Johansson

3. Hemsworth ??

Hemsworth should be #3 but his last non-Marvel wide release Rush lost money for the financiers so his drawing power is questionable.
