No, Will Packer is a film producer. "About Last Night" also is his production, and it opened at #2 in February 2014.

Will Packer's last 8 films have opened with over $20 million at the box office.

Will Packer produces better films than Tyler Perry (imo) and he hires different directors too, so there is variety.

Disney sure isn't Paramount.

lol, yeah. Looking at the big picture, it's not going to make much difference when it hits 300M whether it's day 43 or 44. Remember TA was very close to hitting 300M in 8 days but Disney couldn't even fudge 700K for it and that was a bigger milestone than GOTG.

I think people should calm their male and female tits regarding the future of Marvel movies, there s obviously a glass ceiling somewhere and not all Marvel sequels are bound to increase. Even if they don t increase, they may just stabilize which Marvel wouldn t mind.

Oh, okay, misread that, a little less of an achievement, then. Still a very good producing track record!

Uh..what :)? Thor 2 came out in NOVEMBER...where it lacked the summer crowds, and had heated competition from Best Man Holiday and most importantly the highest grossing domestic of the YEAR (beating even IM3), Catching Fire.November has some big numbers, but they're critical acclaim seeking movies. Thor 2 is a summer flick, so placing it here with more serious offerings, when the crowd you're aiming for is gone by Labor Day, wasn't a great US move by Marvel Studios.Compare that to Cap 2 "facing" Bears, Gods Not Dead, Son of God, and Heaven is for Real... :D...in a pre-summer spot. Not to mention a third of the Avengers as co-stars :D! Yet it STILL got outgrossed by Thor 2 in 72 PERCENT of the markets. Cap 2 only grossing more because China and the US were big. It HAD to do that because it got smoked by Thor 2 almost everywhere ELSE :D! So this Thor fan is holding his head high!

You do realize that Cap 2 nearly doubled it's worldwide gross while Thor 2's increase wasn't anywhere close to this?

Sure there is a ceiling for them and for any other movie for that matter.  But on a ww basis alone, as long as China and to a lesser extent, other territories are expanding, that ceiling won't be hit before several years, guaranteeting most sequels to actually increase worldwide even if they lose some steam domestically.
