Is there a prompter issue or is Terence Howard's dialogue just badly scripted? Something seems really off about his tribute to the BP nominees.

My guess is that he couldn't see the teleprompter so he memorised his speech a couple minutes before hand.

I'm glad it's getting academy attention. It's such a good film, much better than the rest of the nominations in virtually every category. My 2nd best film of 2014. I was worried that it would get a bit lost in the oscars, but it's doing fantastically.
