The Panda
I wonder if the Good Dinosaur could pull a nomination, animated flicks haven't before, but it's some great VFX in that trailer Edited July 22, 2015 by The Panda
Asyulus
I wonder if the Good Dinosaur could pull a nomination, animated flicks haven't before, but it's some great VFX in that trailer Yeah, especially for the asteroids.
AniNate
The only way TGD is happening here is if it's such an Avatar-level event that people are forced to consider it in every single category.
CoolioD1
avengers, jurassic, martian, star wars, the walk.

Jessie
Furous 7 is being overlooked here, what they did with Paul Walker was pretty amazing.
Kalo
Furous 7 is being overlooked here, what they did with Paul Walker was pretty amazing. And Ant-Man, the deaging of Hank Pym was nearly flawless.

Jake Gittes
Can't honestly think of a reason why The Martian should be here.
Avatree
Having now seen The Martian, I am confident there's no way it could get a nomination in the category.
WrathOfHan
Remember that The Lone Ranger got nominated and Night at the Museum 3 made the shortlist last year. Nothing is impossible.
Jake Gittes
Yeah but TLR had that incredibly showy finale.
Avatree
Remember that The Lone Ranger got nominated and Night at the Museum 3 made the shortlist last year. Nothing is impossible. The Lone Ranger has some impressive VFX sequences. The Martian is great but it's not an effects movie. To be honest, I'm a little surprised its budget is quite as large as it is.
Jake Gittes
I'm thinking JW, SW and The Walk are the most likely to be here, even if the latter is a box-office flop. The other two spots are between Furious 7, Avengers, Ant-Man, Mad Max and In the Heart of the Sea. For now I'd pick F7 and Ant-Man.

WrathOfHan
I'm thinking JW, SW and The Walk are the most likely to be here, even if the latter is a box-office flop. The other two spots are between Furious 7, Avengers, Ant-Man, Mad Max and In the Heart of the Sea. For now I'd pick F7 and Ant-Man. I wouldn't be so sure about JW. Pacific Rim got snubbed when it was considered to be locked and they didn't go for Godzilla or Transformers last year.
AniNate
The Lone Ranger has some impressive VFX sequences. The Martian is great but it's not an effects movie. To be honest, I'm a little surprised its budget is quite as large as it is. I guess it is more of a production design kind of deal than VFX. Though being a tentpole auteur project I'd think it still has a leg up
