This weekend makes me feel more confident about Warcraft hopefully it will be as successful as it deserves to be.

Because its not a comic book movie. (Thank God).

 

It's exactly the same mistake Deadline made with their forecast, saying how this would be frontloaded because fans would run to see it the first day.

 

But the thing is, the Jurassic franchise is a different animal from those comic book adaptations. Here there's no small and vocal audience driving reactions, it's just the general audience being very interested in a new entry in mass. Specially if the right elements align (thirst for a new sequel, unique premise in front of other blockbusters, right cast, right marketing).

Even Man of Steel (a June film) increased on Saturday from its non-midnight Friday gross. I don't count the Thursday Wal-Mart money which was a fraud.

 

I would not be surprised if JP4 slightly drops, stays flat, or even increases a decent amount from Friday "day" business.
