LOL at universal projecting JW to barely take the 2nd weekend record.

That is so funny after the way everyone was predicting JW to just miss the opening weekend record despite higher Friday and Saturday numbers. It really seems like "official" predictions are just something they randomly pull out of their ass regardless of what the numbers indicate.

if it does 38m saturday and sunday at 37m then 2nd weekend record is toast as well. But I am thinking it will miss it.

 

38 Saturday is very possible. That's a 31% jump. 5% drop on Sunday would give it $36m which would match the record at $103m.

I think JW breaking the second weekend record is still possible.

What is the average multiplier for a Pixar summer release?  With sparse research, I found 4.2 - 4.3 to be the most likely candidate but with a 4.2 - 4.3 multiplier and a opening north of $88 million, Inside Out would pass the $350 million mark which would be major blockbuster territory!  I'm thinking of higher to mid 3's for its multiplier but who knows!

What are the chances Jurassic World and Inside Out hold on to the top two until Minions come out? Because Ted 2 could do $45M and still settle for #3 next weekend, and I'm not really feeling either Terminator or Magic Mike doing significant enough business the weekend after.
