I'm seriously getting psyched to see this. It looks like so much dumb fun. Very serious shot to be the best video game movie ever too (which is not saying a lot, but I do enjoy me some Mortal Kombat, and I haven't seen the new Tomb Raider yet).

Much more realistic than those around 20M we saw on box office pro for a while imo, look like good tracking start a full month before the last marketing week for a low strength IP movie.

It'll be hard for it not to be. San Andreas was just Emmerichcore porn. Which is.... entertaining as far as CGI spectacle goes, but by no means anything less than completely stupid and often unaware of being completely stupid when it tries to shoehorn attempts at characters, subplots and emotionally driven scripts, and fails miserably. Independence Day being the one exception (although I hear good things about Stargate, which I haven't seen).

 

At least this looks like it has kind of a story, and a main character that isn't kiiiiiind of an idiot.
