This won't matter opening week at all - if ever, but the reviews have really turned on Minions today.

it is now down to a 58% - rotten rating on RT and its average has dipped down below 6.

Reviews that have posted today have run 3-1 negative. Will be interesting to see if this trend continues and whether it will have any long term impact on the movie.

Did anyone see Siskel and Eberts Aliens review? They come across as real pussies there. Saying it was too intense and overkill

I wouldn't say that means they're pussies. I'd say, when they initially say it, they thought it was too much. Maybe they had the simplicity and suspense of Alien on the mind?

My gf wants to see 'Mad Max' and 'Fury'. How freakin awesome is that?! I can't believe she got them so damn right. My two favourite movies I've seen this year. I am a happy guy!

Didn't take long for you to recover from your other gf. :P

I remember all the talk was about T2 - Arnold was HUGE at that time - seemed like everything he was in was a hit

Yep having Twins, Total Recall, Kindergarten Cop and Terminator 2 all back to back to back made him one of the biggest movie stars in the world during this time. Nobody probably realizes that Twins was the 5th highest grossing movie of 1988 domestically. While Total Recall and Kindergarten Cop were the 7th and 10th highest grossing movies of 1990. Even though he had a bomb in Last Action Hero in 1993. He rebounded in 1994  and True Lies was the third highest grossing movie domestically. Not to mention the first Terminator, Conan the Destroyer, Commando, Predator, Running Man and Red Heat were all box office successes before Twins. But Twins was his first HUGE hit at the box office. That said, many of those earlier films got even bigger on video rentals(especially Predator) as Arnold fame grew in the early 90s as well. I know as a 9 year old kid who became a huge Arnold fan after seeing T2. I was going out renting Predator, Commando, Twins, Running Man and all those 80s classics.

And then there was one.

But at least it was a book that hadn't been adapted before or from a series of books that hadn't been adapted from before like Silence Of The Lambs.

Sleeping with the enemy is a weirdly popular movie to adapt in Bollywood. There have been 7 remakes of it to date with one releasing just a month ago. Something about the story probably resonates with Indian audiences.

Color me as one of the few who is surprised. It was literally one positive review away from being certified fresh at one point, IIRC.

I always get Sleeping with the Enemy confused with that Robert Redford movie... the titles are confusing.

Sleeping is a fucking scary movie. I had nightmares for a many weeks after seeing it.

I just remember Julia looked incredible and one guy had a 90s stache while the other had a 90s beard.

2 sequels, 1 remake, 1 TV adaptation, 1 book adaptation and 3 movies based on pre-existing material like fairy tales. Hollywood hates originality.

It did vary more from year to year. Just a year earlier you had 4 originals, 3 book adaptations, 2 comic-book adaptations, and 1 sequel.

1992 was 4 originals, 3 sequels (one a comic book adaptation), a TV adaptation, a fairy-tale adaptation, and a based-on-a-true-story.

1993 was 4 originals, 4 book adaptations, 1 TV adaptation, 1 based-on-a-true-story, and no sequels.

I'm actually surprised that the 1990s had four years (2 consecutive) where not a single sequel placed in the top 10 releases of the year: 1993, 1994, 1996, 1998. ('98 was the last year that would ever happen.) The reason I surprised is because people were complaining about sequels even then.

Hmmm, Minions keeps dropping on RT. Now at 68%. Wonder if it could actually end up rotten.

I doubt it.

58% on RT and rotten for Minions. :(

Heh. Happened even quicker than I thought it would.
