Weekend Estimates: Minions - 115.2M; JW - 18.1M; Inside Out - 17.1M; Gallows - 10M; Self/Less - 5.4M; MMXXL - 9.6M; T5 - 13.7M

He said the opening week, not weekend. Since Inside Out's opening day:

JP4 - $294.4m

IO - $283.6m

This will end up being the same number by the end of the summer, provided JW stays the course against the upcoming action movies, and there's no reason why it shouldn't. Smooth sailing for IO from here on out, and probably a boost next weekend as well.

I'm crossing my fingers for $5M+ for IO today.

Different studios with different ways of estimating Sunday based on the Friday and Saturday estimates. What do you expect? Studios have to essentially guess the business for a day that hasn't happened yet.

The way I see it, Minions will have terrible legs similar to many 2014 blockbusters. Open big then burn out fast like Dawn of the Planet of the apes, Godzilla, X-Men: DOFP, Hobbit: Battle of the five armies, and Transformers: Age of Extinction. The films I've mentioned have bad multipliers.
