Anyone think Denzel regrets not doing F7?

It could've made him more of a draw globally.

I don't think there's any actors that cares as little about this sort of stuff than Denzel. Especially since he's still getting huge paychecks.

Incredible number for Straight Outta Compton. Tons of reasons why it broke out so huge, but no point in discussing it here because it doesn't fit the criteria of another Marvel/JW/DC/studio fanboy beatoff session. Hey guys, a low budget music biopic just opened to more than Mission Impossible 5 or Ant-Man. Might be worth talking about.

Denzel arrives, receives his 20M paycheck, does his thing and leaves. Yeah, I agree, he doesn't care.

Oh-oh.

$15.000 in OS for SOC.

That's extremely low...don't ya think?

No, it is expected. The movie won't do anything outside of UK and Australia.

BO.com starts with their Saturday update of the weekend studio estimates.

Means all my posts are about weekends and not dailies:

= sum

Southpaw    $2,460,000    -48%    1,727    -547    $1,424    $45,667,290    4

Irrational Man    $435,891    -48%    425    -500    $1,026    $3,114,751    5

The Diary of a Teenage Girl    $112,387    115%    22    18    $5,109    $194,781    2

Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet    $30,901    13%    10    8    $3,090    $66,256    2

I have never liked Antoine Fuqua's work, but I thought that he would have done better commercially and critically with Southpaw.

I don't think even Universal expects Compton to do good business OS I imagine most of the money will be from US and OS is just gravy.

Looks like Shaun the Sheep will end up recouping its costs. Lionsgate only paid $1-2m for distribution rights and marketing was minimal.

Go ahead and discuss it and people will either respond favorably or not and move on.. It did good and shows Hip Hop is popular amongst the Urban Crowd.. I'm ready for a true Beatles Biopic..

Do we know how SOC did with whites?

How many movies hit 56 m OW with a mostly black audience?

Guys, seriously movies do not deserve us insulting each other. They deserve discussion, heated debate even sometimes but not personal attacks.

I love this forum, being a new member, because it gets us real time updates on numbers (am now addicted to it!) and engage in thoughtful discussions/opinions about films.

So insults takes away from why it's an interesting platform.

My 2 cents.
