Some overseas weekend numbers:

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Ouch, F4 can't catch a break anywhere.  I'm going to have to watch this at some point just to see how bad it is (I actually don't think it'll be the abomination some have led me to believe, even if it is bad).

ok can we get off this bullshit.  It's purposely taking attention away from what is an actual good BO weekend with a breakout movie.  Regardless of what the movie is, that is usually something people talk well and a lot about, but stupid stuff keep coming up to take away from it.

Geez, can no one just be happy with good results anymore?   :P

Exactly!

Great weekend!!

-30% drops for Minions, Antman, TW and Shaun

Great 3wrd week for MI5

Great start for Soc

A Beatles biopic is not going to do anything at the box office. No popular acts or songs of today are sonically influenced by them, nothing they have been through is relevant to anything that is going on today and is probably going to skew very old. Hell, Paul McCartney just had a song with Rihanna, and a good portion of people thought that he was a new artist. If it is a critical success, it might be able to do Ray numbers unadjusted. They should just make an HBO miniseries about them, possibly pick up some Emmy or Golden Globe awards and call it a day.

yep, IMAX re-release for one week I believe

There are rumours that JW will have a 2D re-release on Labor Day weekend. IMAX is one week before because Transporter gets IMAX on Labor Day weekend.

In unrelated news, Fantastic Four just had the 3rd worst weekend for a film playing in over 3,500 theaters, behind the 3rd weekend of Just Like Heaven and the 4th weekend of Twilight. (And adjusted for inflation, it's the second-worst attended - the 3rd wknd of Just Like Heaven adjusts to less than $250k under F4's estimate for its second.)

Good grief, even if it dropped "only" 69%, that number is horrendous.

I didn't say 52% of cities were black, I said 52% of blacks live there.

You said only 20% of whites lived there and that would be statistically impossible given the size of the population and the percentage that is Urban.
