It has nothing to do with quality. Quality and box office are 100% unrelated, whether domestic or international.

Generally, better received movies have better legs which can make a huge difference.

Look at the legs of comic book movies with over a 90% on RT vs those with under 40%.

Also if buzz is really bad a movie will have a terrible OW like Fantastic Four.

YAAS make that money Snoopy! And Spectre for that matter. I need Winter Game points! Curse you WrathofHan ;)

At this point in the summer game, Ethan was dominating, he finished in the 20s or so in the end. It is a marathon, not a sprint.

Its been so long since I've seen any of the Pre-Brosnan Bond films that I can't rank them.

I'd go with:

1. GoldenEye

2. Casino Royale

3. Skyfall

4. Die Another Day

5. The World is Not Enough

6. Tomorrow Never Dies

7. Quantam of Solace

The last 2 are complete shit IMO.

C'mon, Quantum has Olga!

The World is Not Enough has

the worst villain pairing ever.

And Dr Christmas?

However I would put the cheese-fest Die Another Day up there

for the all-balls-out gonzo-weirdness of it all.

I spent most of the summer game sitting around 30th place. Still not sure what happened at the end, there.

That's a pretty solid number for both films.

It's just nice to have finally have  movies again where the opening day will be more than some of the past weeks openers combined.

Solid for Bond. Excellent for Peanuts

I've seen 19(?) Bond films, don't like any of them. They are all stupid and sexist and too long and they're all identical to each other, they never expand or improve on previous films.

And you watched more Bond films than I do, and I count myself as a casual fan.

Hope rth (or anyone who has access to #'s) makes an appearance tonight, considering it's the first huge weekend in a long time.

I would be okay with rth not posting any numbers as long as he's here all day on Dec 18th :P

Poor Sony.

They need Bond way more than WB.

WB's 2015 has been just as bad as Sony's, if not worse considering all of the mega bombs they've had (nothing in Sony's line-up was all that pricy).

Best Bond by the way was The World is Not Enough. It just doesn't get any better than Denise Richards as a scientist!

Sony should use the money from lending Spidey and buy Bond outright

MGM and EON would never sell Bond, I imagine if Barbara and Michael wanted to sell EON, we'd be looking at a $4-5bn pricetag similar to what Disney paid for Marvel and Lucasfilm.

I think Bond would be fine under WB although I wonder if we'll see Bond in the summer, it's been 25 years since Bond has a summer slot and with WB scheduling Fantastic Beasts and JL in November for the next 5 years, I wonder if they would consider it.
