So now that the first weekends results are in do we think it can beat Titanic WW? Lets not even discuss Avatar which is impossible.

In all seriousness, i agree, the battle is between TFA and Titanic (WW).

I missed it too. Tele said it last night.

I think he was posting spoilers…which may have been unintentional and he just wasn't thinking, but still.

I hope Actuals are fudged up, it's just so close to JW's record to not take it.  And I'm interested to see if they're being conservative for Sunday or not.  I could see actuals going up quite a bit if they are.

They won't need to fudge it. Disney is estimating a 29% drop, which is about the worst case scenario. It's probably hitting 240m OW.

Ever is a really long time, completely disagree that it couldn't happen to another film in 10-20 years or even sooner.

Yeah, inflation alone is a big issue, but I don't see anything on the immediate horizon that could zap this record.  Chances are Avatar 2 will be a long-ish movie (i.e., 2.5 hours or more, which will decrease showings), and I just don't see the pent-up demand for Avengers or other franchises comparable to Star Wars.  THAT SAID, who honestly expected Jurassic World, of all things, to break an OW record?  So, you never know.....
