Jesus, pretty sure it's in no way unfair or difficult to understand why The Avengers would be considered a sequel and Deadpool or Guardians wouldn't be, unless you have some strange inclination to bend semantics in the favor of The Avengers. One movie had its entire leading cast starring in their own movies, all of which came directly before The Avengers in the films' timeline. Additionally, the entire supporting cast and the villain had all been featured in at least one of those five movies. The film's entire appeal was that it was a sequel to four different blockbuster movies at once.

The other movie being discussed features one minor character (who's been rebooted with a new actor and appearance) whose most prominent and recent appearance was a bit role in a movie that's ten years old. The only other argument to possibly be made is that the character Wade Wilson appeared in Wolverine, but again, it was an unrecognizably different version of the character, with a different, now non-canon backstory, and never appeared once as the Deadpool character.

But a sequel continues a storyline from a previous movie and Avengers didn't do that.

Wednesday: 9.0 (-22%)

Thursday: 8.5 (-5%)

Cume: 181.2m

Friday: 17.0 (+100%)

Saturday: 26.3 (+55%)

Sunday: 15.2 (-42%)

Wknd: 58.5 (-55%)

Cume: 239.7m

If tomorrow can avoid a 25% drop or more, i think we are in for a very healthy drop this weekend. Better than any X-Men movie even coming from an inflated weekend. Guardians of the Galaxy going down and 350m DOM looking very likely. This is NUTS.

41% drop. Looking what happened in 2010 with the same calendar...it's a fantastic drop. I mean, no movie in the top 10 of that year dropped this soft.

Tuesday's are more lucrative these days...;)

Spider-Man's 403.7m or bust.

Go big or go home(Of course DP would ask whether I mean the 403.7m or the bust when I say "big")

Title...............Day 1...Day 2...Day 3...Day 4...Day 5...Day 6

SM1...............39.4m..43.6m..31.8m..11.0m..10.0m..8.3m

DP..................47.3m..42.5m..42.6m..19.8m..11.6m?..??

Est total after Day 5:

DP: 163.8m(+28.0m)

SM1: 135.8m

(Do I really think it will get there? No. But it would be hilarious if it did.)

I want it to get there, even if I didn't really like DP all that much, simply because it might give more variety to these cookie cutter CBMs.

You have a choice right now between PG-13 (more like PG) Disney Marvel shite or "gritty" Nolan Warner DC shite. Neither interest me.

Oh, and there's Singer's X-Men shite that is the same movie remade again and again and again.

In regards to R-rated CBMs, I rate 1) Watchmen 2) Kick Ass 3) Deadpool
