900m for Deadpool WW would be absolutely ridiculous. In the space of a single movie, early February just became a great window for a blockbuster.

The openers are all nonstarters, as expected. Gods of Egypt just looks like one of those movies where you sit there the whole time wondering who in their right mind thought this was worth sinking $100M+ into.

 

Great for Deadpool again of course, along with Kung Fu Panda 3 and the Oscar films.

900M still feels wayyyy too ambitious for Deadpool, I'm thinking it tops out around 815-830.

It was a typo. It made 40.2 M overseas. An 800 m worldwide finish, I guess.

It's more annoying to me personally than anything else, for the nth time I like the TFA & am very impressed by its run. The comparison you gave brings nothing to the table that hasn't been stated many times already. Not getting into the expectations/surprise around TFA vs Deadpool again but that has something to do with it.

You're just mad about it. I'm quite aware of what has been discussed before here, thank you. I compared a recent movie with latest-of-the-minute box office news with TFA, so that pretty much proves it hadn't been stated already.

 

And it brings something new to the table: perspective.

What perspective are you offering other than saying TFA has made a ton of $? I see nothing in this post or your other that suggests anything different (which is as far from new as you can get).

You never know when to quit don't you? Of course comparisons don't bring something new for someone who already compared it (i.e. you, me). For others, however, it can offer a new perspective.

TFA has sold around 106m tickets in US according to mojo i think it's a bit optimistic i though it was around 91 92 m right now.
