IMAX CEO Rich Gelfond told Fox Business earlier this week that China presales in the format are at their highest ever on Infinity War. -per Deadline

yeah, its maintained 60-66% the whole run, impressive. Should get a decent bump on Saturday

Now that we're so close, what would you say is the absolute floor and ceiling for opening weekend? Like the worst case and the best case scenario?

At best, we're looking at 2.2 I'd say. Probably 2.0 if it's a 9+

That $235m OW is very likely compared to the others on the chart, but it could deviate a bit with such high PS and come in at $215m.  OW weekend multi could be as little as 1.7, $365m.  Best case could be $260m OW and 500m+ Total

TF4 did $92m with 60k shows per day.  IW will have 180k+ per day. We can call the absolute ceiling at $276m OW

I'm being conservative with the projections in that update. PS could run a bit more and the PS multi could be higher

Crumbling? I don't think so. That term applies to AoU and CW's legs.

It dropped less than 60% on it's second Friday after record breaking run in it's 1st weekend. It's not crumbling, it's just how blockbuster movies fare in OS market these days. You'll see this trend continue with other movies too in the summer.

 

Anyhow I just read last 10-15 pages of this thread and I am excited beyond belief of AIW's prospects in China. Hope it can do 400M + in China which in turn may help in breaching 2B WW.
