I'm not really excited about reading the last 50 pages or so.

Just as an aside (from reading the last couple of pages before the lock), everyone who publicly wants Snyder fired and the JL project delayed -- there's human collateral damage if your wishes come true. A few hundred people -- all the below-the-line crew -- will be out of work and scrambling to find ways to cover rent/mortgage payments/cost of living. When a project gets delayed close to its start date, it's very difficult to find a replacement job quickly, especially any sort of long-term work. All these crew members had financial security for awhile, their lives at least somewhat planned out for the near future. Often-times, with a high-profile feature like this, once you're booked, you turn down other work because projects like this are better. So the jobs you might've had are also gone (in most cases) because you were already booked on JL.

It's easy to hate on Snyder and the really-high profile cast and crew because they're extremely well-paid and they'll be fine, one way or another. But the below-the-line guys (and gals) are just working folk.

I know it's not gonna change anyone's opinion of what they want to see happen, but at least recognize that it's sort of an ugly thing to want.

Some people here will never recognize it and you know it ;)

From The Wrap:

Warner Bros. executives won’t be fretting too much. Their PG-13 rated blockbuster has already amassed $588 million globally, topping the entire runs of “Ant-Man,” “Thor” and “Captain America,” and delivered on the most of goals the studio had in mind for the kickoff film in DC Comics Universe.

:D:lol:

Oh FFS.

This is as egregiously obvious as all those contortions Nikki used to pull out for Sony when reporting numbers.

Cjohn I don't know if my post about the 15.5 number got deleted or not but what you said was what I was also saying. Rth said 15.5 was wishful thinking and when the number came in under 15.5 that showed Rth is still God and not dead.

And what are those "goals", exactly?  Establishing goodwill among the general audience and fans?  Setting up charismatic, likeable, aspiring "heroes"?  Making sure to establish a tone that prevents children/families from being able to see your films?  Hmm...

Will finally go and check out this behometh...or rather, this water balloon that seems to be bursting...tonight.

Catching a double feature of 'Midnight Special' and a Sat eve showing of BVS...Michael Shannon six degrees for the win.

Will report back with results.

THR, The Wrap, Variety, DHD... we need to replace them in the box office articles.

That post got deleted but I'm pretty sure you guys wouldn't be this strict had it opened huge & held well (like it's been on almost every other movie). Food for thought.

As much as it may surprise, I really don't give much of a shit about the movie. It just happens to be one of those crazy polarizing projects where people can't help sniping at it and each other, and then poking at each other's misery or reveling in schadenfreude. If it was doing huge numbers and people were still constantly going after each other, we'd be doing the same thing.

I don't understand this part. This is a numbers forum after all, any talk of if it's doing shit or great would be on topic in any weekend, weekday thread surely?

Yes, discussing its numbers is fine. Posting constantly, page after page, how astonishing the terrible drops are, and how amazingly fun it is to watch, and how much enjoyment you're getting from all this, is deadening. At best.
