Clearly we need a WB hacking revealing all of their embarrassing info to silence everyone once and for all.

Ironically, an episode of Supergirl earlier this season had an episode where Calista Flockhart's (who, it must be said, is killing it with the limited material she's given) company is hacked and a whole bunch of embarrassing stuff is revealed and published by other sources as news as a flimsy metaphor for the Sony incident.

To some people on this board, IT'S A FREAKING COMIC BOOK MOVIE! Seriously, how can someone be so invested in a freaking movie to become so butthurt over the past 3 weeks that you make idiots of yourselves on this board. It was cute to laugh at at first but ever since the 25th, it has made these weekend threads unbearable. Guys seriously, why does someone have to be so angry and upset about a film's box office because it was based on a property you can't seem to fathom can do any wrong. Jeez. Even I love Star Wars to death, but I certainly wouldn't have complained this much if the movie sucked.

For realz. This whole thing has gone from somewhat amusing (after all, how often do mega-event blockbuster titles meant to kick off a whole chain of movies come along that also end up poorly-reviewed?) to plain sad. Though nothing is quite as sad as that #SupportDCFilms hashtag going around. Talk about pissing in a jar and selling it to someone under the name Granny's Peach Tea (wink wink).

No kidding, I've been avoiding this thread like 95% of the time because no matter what numbers come up, the BvS hate/defense discussion keeps popping up and overshadows everything else.

Like @Baumer said, saying BvS was a "disappointment" has been said over and over already, and defending it in return also has been said over and over already. Will it ever stop?

No, not locked. Only Japan left to go and if you look at WDAS's previous movies there, they are 77M, 249M, 30M, 31M. So it's hard to predict, at least from my pov, knowing very little about Japan's BO. But major western animated movies often just do 30M or so, in which case it wouldn't get 1B.

Hmm, intriguing. How the hell did Frozen make that much money in Japan? I'd figure Big Hero 6 would get that type of number. But yeah, I think that, similarly to China, Japan can very well go wild w/the whole furry thing and can drive Zootopia to somewhere like 70-80M, which coupled w/the film's superb international legs, could lead to somewhere around Alice In Wonderland to Minions numbers. We'll see.

Japan & furries? Are you just trying to make some generalisation about hentai furry porn or some shit?

Here is a list of the Japanese grosses of every single talking-mammal animation that grossed 100M in America:

Kung Fu Panda: 17M

Kung Fu Panda 2: 13M

Horton Hears a Who: 0.3M

Madagascar: 20M

Madagascar 2: 10M

Madagascar 3: 26M

Ice Age: 16M

Ice Age 2: 8M

Ice Age 3: 1M

Ratatouille: 33M

Over The Hedge: 9M

Puss in Boots: 14M

The Good Dinosaur: 12M

Bolt: 17M

(Excluded Lion King & couple of others as couldn't find any data)

Not a single one grossed over $33M. So I don't know where anyone would be getting the idea that the Japanese love animal animation.

So much anger. Have you considered yoga or shadow boxing?

@Kung Fu Panda Tree Wow, even Kung Fu Panda wasn't shown some love (I know that's set in China, but doesn't halt its oriental appeal anyway)? Damn, I thought animations were bigger in Japan, especially w/the anime love and all  Guess maybe Zootopia can stall at about 950M should Japan not overperform and its legs not having much more power in them from this point on, essentially Despicable Me 2 territory. Hey, certainly not a sneeze feat for an original animation released in February/March.

Michelle Darnell and the two superheroes are fighting to the finish this weekend. While first person action flick Hardcore Henry is one of the worst debuts for a film with 3,000+ screens. The Boss narrowly led the weekend with an estimated $23.4 million opening weekend. That's around the same field as other related comedies such as The Other Woman, and Tammy(although that had a Wednesday debut). Although mixed word of mouth(C+ cinemascore), the film could still make its way between 60-70 million domestic. While not too far, Batman V. Superman was also at an estimated $23.4 million this weekend, while taking another toll this weekend the film is close to $300 million domestic. Considering The Jungle Book comes out next weekend, and Captain America:Civil War comes out in a few more weeks. Batman V. Superman will make around 345 million domestic. Disney Animation flick Zootopia still showing strong legs with families, and has played strongly both stateside and overseas. Look for Zootopia to end its run north of 350 million domestic. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 still holding up solid this weekend, and should probably end its run around 65 million domestic. R-Rated First Person Action Flick Hardcore Henry debuted very softcore this weekend around an estimated $5 million this weekend which is one of the worst debuts for film in 3,000+ screens. Henry's debut was on par with other recent spring R-Rated flops such as The Gunman, and Sabotage. Considering mixed word of mouth(C+ Cinemascore) and a more crowded slate coming up. Hardcore Henry should dissapear from theaters quickly, and should just possibly break even with its $10 million production budget(not including P&A costs). Miracles From Heaven still holding up strong  and should make its way close to 70 million domestic. Last weekend's opener God's Not Dead 2 dropped around 43% this weekend, and is below its predcessor. The Christian sequel should make around 20 million domestic. Allegiant also had a solid hold but still running behind its predcessors and should make its way close to 70

million. 10 Cloverfield Lane still holding up stronger than it's predcessor and should make at least 75 million domestic. Eye In The Sky still doing ok. The film should make around 15 million domestic. Meet The Blacks is not doing whack, and should end its run close to 10 million. Deadpool still making solid holds on the top 12 considering that the R-Rated Comic Book Adaptation is hitting DVD, and Bluray on May 10th the film has proven solid holds, and should make its way around 365 million.

Wait. Are we permitted to use "oriental" again? I thought that was verbotten.

So confused.

Midnight Special was prettty good. Although it's probably Nichols' "worst" film. Not bad when your worst film is a solid B.

Like Nolan?
