The Panda
After watching La La Land, this has the award in the bag. Sorry Lin, love you, but this isn't your EGOT year.

stripe
How far I'll go - Moana City of Stars - La La Land Audition - La La Land Can't stop the feeling - Trolls I see victory - Hidden figures
cannastop
Haven't seen Trolls yet, but I really liked this song: Now, that's probably not getting Oscar consideration, but the writers of the song, Pasek and Paul, also wrote the lyrics for La La Land. Maybe they should have done the music for that movie as well.
Mojoguy
If a Moana song gets nominated it'll be You're Welcome because it is sung by the more popular Rock. The female lead that plays Moana is still unknown, and the Academy will want a bigger star singing on stage in front of millions. CoolioD1
you're welcome wasn't submitted. your reasoning is also illogical. they've nominated some random ass people before they're not gonna put their foot down for her. Mojoguy
You're Welcome was submitted by Disney, it just wasn't eligible. There are still no announced nominations yet. I enjoyed How Far I'll Go, You're Welcome, and We Know The Way. I was just trying to explain some of the politics about the Oscar nominations. Bigger singer for the songs do have an impact. CoolioD1
maybe if the movie is obscure but for moana no.
Impact
The Rock sings in Moana? Okay that sounds epic. (Will probably see it this week)

AniNate
A Lovely Night and Fools Who Dream are probably LLL's best bets

There are countless of examples where huge stars were snubbed. Edited December 29, 2016 by stripe
CoolioD1
the truth is disney probably only wanted to submit one moana song like they did with frozen which would be How Far I'll Go, but because We Know The Way had a different song writer on it there was probably some contractual business where he wants a shot at a nomination too. Ezen Baklattan
I'm rooting for Audition over City of Stars, but Someone in the Crowd has been stuck in my head for so long.
Ethan Hunt
Initial reaction, I think Someone in the Crowd is my favorite song from the movie but I'll be delighted at any of them getting the honor

CoolioD1
looks a little too poppy to me. they never really go 5/5 with the obvious ones. i actually think the common song from 13th has a shot. better than the selma song he won for imo.

For "out of the blue random" nothing will ever beat Uncle Fucker from the South Park movie. I'm pretty sure a bunch of voters got together after a bunch of drinks and said "let's get everyone we know to nominate this as a joke and watch the reaction".
