I wonder if the critics reviews really helped that much, or would this movie have opened to an $150m without such positive buzz?

Either way, I think $450m+ is still incredibly likely even with IM3ish opening, it has way better WoM than IM3 and AoU.

I feel like it is happening. True SH fatigue. I know everyone loses their shit when someone brings it up, but it had to happen at some point.

Deadpool did very well. I think people are just tired of the same superheroes.

Clearly fatigue. Opens 70% higher than Cap2. Lol

Probably helped. It was really only after the reviews poured in that everyone's predictions went wild. Before that, it was tracking like $160m.

180M OW.

Kevin Feige should be kissing RDJ's feet as we speak.

He does, and Favs' too. Hence the paydays they both get off subsequent MCU films (Downey's increasingly fatter cuts of the pie and Favs getting Executive Producer credits).

Looks like a 174-182M OW depending on the breaks on Saturday/Sunday.

The trades and tracking have once again ruined what should have been looked at as an unmitigated triumph. Second continuous summer opener where this happened.

I wonder if this should be looked at as a sequel to Ultron BO wise if it was an Avengers sequel released only a year after Ultron, considering it's middling WoM an OW in the $175-$185m would seem pretty logical. I agree with you, though, this movie was unbelievably amazing and deserves way more than BvS because it's so much better quality of film. Either way, it's bigger than that, and there is no way in hell it's getting BvS's 2.0 multiplier.

I don't think it can be considered a sequel without the Avengers name.

And you will see it happen yet again when both Infinity Wars open too.

They never fucking learn...

So is this headline for reals :lol: only a cap movie yeah sure it is with

Iron Man

Spider-Man

Black Panther

Scarlet Witch

Vision

Ant-Man

Hawk Eye

Black Widow

i am sure i am missing some

It was marketed as a VS movie all that Team Cap and Team Iron Man. If BvS is more than a MoS sequel that only had Batman and 10 min of Wonder Woman but it was not a MoS sequel even if it continue right after MoS. While Civil War has all these characters. Its basically an Avengers movie anyone saying anything else is just admitting defeat.

I agree, but I just wonder how most audiences perceived it. considering my dad asked if Superman was in it, I'm pretty sure for most casual movie goers it would have had to have Avengers in the title in order for them to see it as such. which in that case having a 90% increase from WS is insane. and I honestly don't think this would have opened bigger if it were called Iron Man 4, either IM3 had really middling WoM and a sequel would have almost certainly seen a drop.
