If SLOP outgrosses Zootopia, then I'm going loco.

To be fair, SLOP has a $75m budget, compared to Zoo's $150m budget and Inside Out's $175m budget... so SLOP is going to be more profitable than them matter what.

Illuminition movies doesn' t have great marketing, they have great, appealing to the masses premises.

Those movies are made in an old, abandonned parking lot in the center of Paris.

I bet you loved McConaughy in true detective

Rust Cohle: This place is like somebody's memory of a town, and the memory is fading. It's like there was never anything here but jungle.

Martin Hart: Stop saying shit like that. It's unprofessional.

Solid hold for TARZAN. Down ~52% from last weekend for 18-18.5m is pretty much the most one can expect considering the OW was inflated and some demand was burnt off on Monday too. 120m is looking good.

IDR will be on 91m after the weekend. Two 55%+ drops back to back. Looking at ~105m dom.

So PETS OW is greater than IDR's cume after 3rd weekend and will be ~10m away form IDR final dom. Didn't see that coming.

So, is Pets virtually a lock for biggest original movie (not just animation) OW of all time now, 100M or not? If so, then hot damn. Illumination have become true household names. Buying them was arguably the best thing that Universal has done this century so far for themselves (that and casting Chris Pratt for Jurassic World post-GOTG).

So you mean the highest grossing film on opening weekend that isn't based on some kind of previously existing material? I think you're right. All the films that have grossed around 98 million dollars end up starting with Iron Man are all films that are comic books or some other kind of previously published works.

We're all aware of that, but still want to take our celebrations where we can.

So Dory took a dive. Unfortunate, but not too surprising. Hopefully it can still crawl its way to 500 mil.

It'll probably be Paramounted to $100M.

Illumination is pretty much the ice cream truck bar of animation. Sugary, loud, not a whole lot of substance at all, but it's easy to see why people like it, and you even enjoy a bit of it yourself a few times.
