So China is one of the worst when it comes to human rights violations (and animals) but the films playing there can't be violent?

Nah, SS was banned wasn't because of the violence. Not sure where that narrative comes from. Our Chinese members in the subforum said it has to do with the character of the Enchantress. Don't know why but that's what it is.

If movies are banned in China because of violence, you would not see their own domestic productions released. Let alone movies like The Expendables series played and performed quite well there.

Considering hiw big discount Tuesday has become, I wonder whether or not a blockbuster that is released on Tuesday in the Summer would earn more on its first Tuesday than its first Friday.

Would definitely be interesting to see.

Originally it comes from Joblo ("propagating passive or negative outlook on life, worldview and value system"), then other sites adding more I think.

Quite ironic now considering the movie is neither dark nor violent.

I heard it's the language and the parts where Deadshot shoots that guy and Joker killing tattoo man and Maybe a little more .From what I hear SS is still being marketed in  China and Wb is currently editing the flim to fit China's standards.

I really don't know how true that is but I hope it is true.

Since BVS nearly did 96mil I believe SS could do better with around 120-130mil

Putting it over the 800mil mark.

If not anything ove4 750 Still would be great.

So does Deadpool yet you counted that with CW.

When I mentioned it with CW, I said, 'Movies based on Marvel characters,' which include both those in and not in the MCU; I was very careful with my words.

You also said you saw Apocalypse in theaters but "because it's Fox it doesn't count", yet Deadpool is Fox and you're counting that. So no, you weren't very careful

I'm inclined to believe our own Chinese members who know more about the inner working of SARFT than sites like JoBlo. But I guess, once they banned it, the reasons are irrelevant anyway.

Or Tuesday is just big. The final Ice Age movie also jumped big in July.

Well it makes sense. If I had to take my kid to a movie, and I had to choose between a Monday or a Tuesday, I'd choose the day that would cost me $13 instead of $15-17.

No. Just no. That was actually an error because I haven't seen Apocalypse. Seriously. I will edit that post to fix that. Thanks for inadvertently pointing that out.

SS got banned in China because of Enchantress, a witch. Ghostbusters got banned because of the ghosts.

Deadpool got banned in China, because they couldn't edit things out of the film to make it less violent/more appealing to every age group since china doesnt have a rating system every film that gets a release there, has to be deemed appropriate for all ages by their rating system.

SS didn't get banned in China because of "language," and "violence."

SS 10day of 233 Is 14mil ahead of Man of Steel's 219 .As long as the flim stays above the daily numbers of Man of Steel while adding a little more as it goes  (which seems to be the case) I think we could be looking at a 310-315 mil finish.

I believe after this week me and a few others are  going to start using the term locked very strongly.
