Weekend Actuals (Page 62): Suicide Squad 20.9M | Sausage Party 15.5M | War Dogs 14.7M | Kubo 12.6M | Pete's Dragon 11.3M | Ben Hur 11.2M

Sausage Party will need pretty awful drops to miss $100m at this point, which is far from happening. DB has the potential to be a mini breakout, which with Magnificent Seven on the horizon could spell a turning tide for Sony.

Kubo's number is pretty weak, but WOM could propel it to $50m. War Dogs and Ben-Hur won't be so lucky.

When the Bough Breaks should be another easy hit for them too.

We talk like Sony has had a sea of bombs this year. The Shallows and Angry Birds probably give a clean profit too. Miracles From Heaven was a hit too. Even The 5th Wave probably saved itself with that OS result. Money Monster doesn't seem a money loser either. Solid year for Sony.

After the debacle of 2015, barring HT2, they could use a solid year.

What is the "last word" on how much of the domestic and the international box office translates into studio revenue? Is there one?

Every country is different when it comes to ancillary.   The Wall Street Journal did a breakdown of major markets a couple of years ago (under a paywall)

This is the chart with averages for a film that makes $100m at the B.O. for US, UK, China & Russia

Yeah, I'm not even gonna bother catching up on the last few pages lol.

Pretty tepid for the openers but that was expected I suppose. Only gonna get worse next week when Don't Breathe is the only opener that won't make peanuts.

Bad Moms has the best hold in the top 10. I imagine $115M is still in the cards.

Great expansion for Hell or High Water, awesome.

Pretty much, yeah.

They got Storks, When The Bough Breaks (BLACKPEOPLE~), The Magnificent Seven, Inferno (okay, that one could flop, but neither Da Vinci Code or Angels & Demons did, so it could go either way) and Passengers coming, meaning the year could get even better for them.

Storks is WB.

Sony have Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk as well.
