Mag7 isn't underperforming, it's just not breaking out like some (including me) hoped.

Let's keep the doom and gloom to movies that actually derserve it - like Storks.

Damn...rip Miss Peregrine's next weekend :sadben:

Yeah buddy, you're welcome to root for Miss Peregrine all you want, that one is already going to perform like shit anyway.

I'm just glad we're getting one. This also helps:

About Storks, maybe parents just didn't want to explain to their kids where babies come from?

Also CG babies are cute but are people willing to pay a ticket to see them?

This certainly helps Miss Peregrine, better chance for that to break out now that Storks has disappointed!

But on the other hand, Eva Green has pretty much been box office poison her whole career. Kingdom of Heaven, Dark Shadows, The Golden Compass, 300 2, Sin City 2...it's surprising her Bond movie wasn't Quantum of Solace instead of Casino Royale.

3RD UPDATE, 4:41PM: Late afternoon estimates The Magnificent Seven is now projected to ride with an estimate in the high $30Ms at 3,674 with a shot at $40M. Evening numbers will indicate how high we get with Friday now projected between $12M-$13M. The remake of the 1960 John Sturges movie will likely rank as one of Denzel Washington’s top three openers and should become director Antoine Fuqua’s best debut of his career, inching out his R-rated The Equalizer which opened to $34.1M two years ago at this time. For Magnificent Seven, Sony has all the PLF, Imax and Dbox venue pricing working in its favor toward this MGM/Village Roadshow/LStar Capital co-production.

We might need to stick a fork in Warner Bros.’ StorksOne set of rival estimates show the latest animated title from the Burbank lot at $19.6M after a $5.5M Friday. Eeesh. Warner Bros. will have better news looking at the third place on the box office chart which is where Sully is expected to land with $12.4M, -43%, for a $91M running total through its third sesh.

Universal/Studio Canal/Working Title/Miramax’s Bridget Jones’s Baby will rank fourth with $4.2M, -51% for $16.1M through 10 days, while Open Road’s Snowden is fifth with a second weekend of $3.8M, -53% for a 10-day run of $14.8M

Just looked at the numbers for Legends of the Guardians that WB made six years ago and that only made $16m OW and Happy Feet 2 flopped a year later, clearly animated bird movies are a curse for WB/WAG so we won't seeing a Tweety or Daffy Duck movie anytime soon!

We're gonna get Forks next year.  They adapted a toy into a movie, so why not a piece of silverware?

I haven't drunk anything tonight... yet

BTW, true story from an hour ago. I was about to watch Finding Dory at a community event that was free to kids and students and everyone, but we ended up not going because there were too many families and it felt awkward. As we left, I asked one of my friends if they wanted to see Storks instead because there were tentative plans to see it tonight. He was like "ehhhh... no" and then I just screamed as a joke "WELL FUCK!!" and so many kids looked at me with parents glaring too.

You could always watch Philadelphia (which you should, if you haven't).

Yeah that's great and all but I really want them to reunite

Or I'll settle for a Hanks/Pratt movie

Or just a Hanks movie that has some meat on it in any form. Last one was Captain Phillips IMO
