This is especially good for Fantastic Beasts since its 130 showtimes are in 60% of the theaters of Strange. I can see it get 10-15M in previews if it adds showtimes the week of release.

Fantastic Beasts and Doctor Strange are selling about evenly in Central Florida outside of the largest IMAX. That IMAX has around 470 seats; Strange's first showing has sold 99 seats while Fantastic Beasts has sold only 7 seats.

Max Steel's writer is the same guy writing Thor Ragnarok...I just have to say that.

 

That being said, did anybody even watch Max Steel? I know few people who watched it and they all said it wasn't bad at all. I'll be watching it soon.

His draft was scrapped. Waititi is the credited writer along with someone else.

Has anyone mentioned that Birth of a Nation fell almost 70% week-to-week? This movie is gonna go down in the books for contradicting the belief that there's no such thing as bad publicity.

In the battle of the Toms, Hanks will likely beat Cruise both domestically and overseas. Someone needs to put them in a film together where it be a thriller or a drama or even make Hanks a villain in Mission Impossible 6.

That would be awesome. Don't think Hanks has strayed too far from his comfort zone, he could be the best MI villain since PSH. Paramount should get on that, and hide the fact that Hanks is a villain in the marketing.

I imagine Hanks and Cruise's salaries would probably be too much for Paramount. If they couldn't get him as a villain, maybe cast him as the new secretary of IMF and not mention his casting until the very last minute. It's surprising considering how long they've both been in the industry that no one has sought to put them in a film together.

The numbers are pretty good, each movie probably making 300k in its one day run at 300 theaters.

I was watching Inferno earlier and I thought to myself, Tom Hanks should be cast as a psychopath or maniacal villain. Would be awesome.

Closest for me was Looney Tunes: Back In Action. Just me, my brother, and a mother and children. In retrospect, I feel lucky to have seen that film in the cinemas.
