With all the new strike news seeming to kick everything back a month or two I'm less bullish on May now, but I still think it makes Summer if the filming catch-up really is just a month. July seems most likely, probably caps date.

The SAG negotiations falling apart should put a swift end to any hopes Disney had of this movie making it to May, let alone next year. I don't expect it any earlier than February of 2025 and will be pleasantly surprised if it does. Maybe they can make it to Thunderbolts's current December 2024 slot, but I doubt it.

Yeah, this probably moves to February or May of 2025 and Captain America probably moves to next Fall

There is a way out of this.  Suspending talks and throwing tantrums to the press is not it.

Tbh I think this strike was good for Marvel because it’s the first time they have had a break. No, Covid doesn’t count because the vast majority of phase 4 projects were still in production. This is the first time they had to stop everything entirely and take a moment to reflect and tbh is something I wished they really committed to in 2020-21 as it was clear Feige wasn’t ready. If Star Wars and Harry Potter fanbases could’ve waited patiently and still

be potent, so could’ve Marvel.

At this point we should hope it doesn't. They still have quite a bit left to film + post. Not enough time unless we want floating head VFX like Thor 4.

It most likely isn't being released in 2024 at all. February 2025 is the earliest we can expect it at this point.

Wouldn't be surprise if it ends up at May 2025 if they want to start off the Summer season with it.

Cap America movie will still come out next year right. That is probably ready minus any pickups pending. Probably they could have that open in their favorite May 1st week slot and put Deadpool 3 in November slot. But before we put in dates, let the strikes end.

If this movie gets pushed to the end of 2024, why do people believe it will go to November instead of Thunderbolts December 20th slot?

Taking Thunderbolts spot always made the most sense to me

I think if it moves it moves to late summer, not Christmas.

 

As for the Swift rumors:

Wouldn't be surprised if she's also doing a song too.

I don’t think it’ll be ready for late summer if DHD thinks it won’t start filming until start of next year. At best it could make November or December, but feeling a 2025 release date is more likely.

Not surprised. They had more than 50% to film to do + reshoots + VFX + Reynolds was just able to adlib/improv because of the writer's strike. That's the correct call.

 

The original September date or Thunderbolts' December date are the best options.

The holidays are looking really barren next year in terms of stuff that will be ready. With 50% of the movie already done they should have no problem releasing in November or December if they begin filming again by early 2024.
