So if Stranged topped 110m last night then it had a nearly 20% increase. Will be curious to see how the other films behaved.

Also, I read BOMs weekend preview a little bit ago and it made my head spin. Does Brad seriously not know or realize WHY Thor 2 behaved the way it did and why Strange increased as much as it did on Tuesday?? He makes himself seem more like an idiot than normal with that article this weekend.

Monday was the 11th for Thor, vets day

All movies will bump Thursday

question:

this thread will end as the weekend thread, right?

Does Thursday still get an own thread or has that changed in the time I wasn't here?

Just got back from Arrival.

Holy shite.

Arrival is the best film of the year. Thanks Villanueva(sp?) for making another great movie. I'm already a huge fan of sci fiction movies so I was already sold on it. But this movie was unbelievable! Third act reveal had me in tears.

Seeing again this Sunday. Just couldn't wait any longer and purchased tickets to see it today.

A+

Will have full review in rtm thread.

Holy hell that's what I'm talking about Arrival!  Paramount needs to expand the fucking theaters next weekend, 2,300 is a joke.  They even gave Ben-Hur 3,000... it's no wonder they're circling the toilet bowl...

So true. I hope this will not repeat other mishandlings like what they did to Flight.

The end of Peter Travers' review says it best:

Though action fanboys might get antsy about the film's contemplative pace, patience pays off in a curve-throwing ending that fills you with a sense of wonder, not to mention shock and awe. Adams, her face a reflection of conflicting emotions, is simply stellar in an Oscar-buzzed performance of amazing grit and grace. Without her, Arrival might be too cerebral to warm up to. With her, the film gets inside your head and emerges as something intimate and epic, a linguistics odyssey through space and time. It's the stuff that dreams are made of.
