Krissykins
I'm glad... Gives more breathing room to IT, Flatliners and Saw. Plus they could be moving it to January after Split.
Krissykins
Plus it means there are at least 4 high profile horror films in 2018: Insidious 4, The Purge 4, The Nun and Halloween. Spread the wealth
Boxofficerules
They always release a horror movie in the first week of January and it's always dreadful.

Quality wise, usually. But since White Noise started the trend 12 years ago (!) They've always delivered decent opening weekends. JB33
Yeah that's a bad sign for Insidious 4. Too bad. I liked the first two.

Not the first horror release of the year though. I only like Insidious 2... so I don't really care, lol. Does people still expect something good from this series, though? It died in the (amazing) first movie.
Mockingjay Raphael
Jesus Christ, WTF was Rings? I wasn't expecting nothing from this, but it managed to be worse than horrible. I know that Hollywood lacks of new ideas, but they really needed to ruin the identity of an once respectable movie? The worst part is that they didn't even try something new, the whole concept is an It Follows spin off. The acting is horrible, and the direction is even worse, where the hell did they spend that $25m budget?! Not even TV Movies have such a cheap cinematograph, worst Horror movie of year by far.
baumer
I feel exactly the same about Rings. On the flip side I watched the bye bye man last night and that was actually really good. It needed a little bit more explanation as to who the bye bye man was but overall the film really well-made really atmospheric and quite scary and some parts.
Jake Gittes
2018 will also hopefully give us Robert Eggers' Nosferatu remake.
MCKillswitch123
Tbf to Insidious 4, Split also came out in January this year and it was far from the typical January horror shitfest, so you never know.

Krissykins
The Bye Bye Man remains the worst film I've seen this whole year. I think it'll be hard to beat. Cure for Wellness came close though.

The acting was pretty dire to boot.

Just utter incompetence all the way around.
