Agreed. It's doing great. Running 22% behind TDK's dailies the last couple days. If that continues, it will finish at $550 million. That's a heck of a number and it could definitely go higher if the Friday number was deflated by winter weather problems.

The weather problems will carry over to today and Sunday.

So again critics are talking out of their asses what is else new with these people with basically the most worthless jobs you could have. Underworld is great its the best since the 2nd by far. And i have seen basically all say that. Just shows us again critics are out of touch with the audience yet again.

And with a 35 million budget for Underworld Blood Wars and already on 45 million overseas for an R rated movie. Its pretty damn good. Kate as Selene will get another sequel and it might even do better than this because BW is WAY WAY better that Awakening.

It's limited by the number of theaters and screens it got (just like Arrival was).  It's only in 2471 theaters, and in those theaters, it's mostly just getting one screen.  In good news, that means pent-up demand is not being satisfied, so we should see some long legs, like Arrival.

It would not surprise me if the film doesn't actually drop more than 20% next weekend - even with all the new openers.  It will not lose a single screen and MLK weekend should be box office gold for this film.

With the bad weather keeping people in, it could pull an Avatar and increase on the next weekend, esp. if the movie's WOM is that good

Audiences Give Every 2016 Disney Movie An Outstanding 'A' Grade

Quote

Every single Disney feature film production released in 2016 was awarded an A+, A, or A- grade from audiences via CinemaScore, the company that provides the most reliable audience grading for theatrical releases. Cinemascore passes out ballots to viewers at theaters on opening night for each movie, allowing the audience members to assign a letter grade of A through F. Balloting is done nationwide, with a huge sample size. The ballots for all of Disney's movies were stellar, a feat no other studio comes close to matching. Warner Bros. had the second-best CinemaScore performance, receiving A-range grades for 46% of their releases.

Disney's highest CinemaScore came from Queen of Katwe, a film I personally gave a rave review. Audiences awarded that picture with a rare A+ grade,  but sadly not enough of you went to see it in theaters to help that outstanding letter grade translate into box-office success. If you have a chance to see it at home, I highly recommend you find out why audiences loved it so much and reviewers praised it (giving it a Rotten Tomatoes score of 92%).

I fail to see how falling by almost half from the previous movie is great but alrighty then.

$3.1M FRI for going to $10M wknd. Hopes to sweep comedy/musical field on its way to $100M+ club.

$4.9M opening day FRI for going to only about $13M wknd - by far the lowest ever for this 5-film franchise.

Just watched Deepwater Horizon. That scene at the end

Spoiler

with Williams (Wahlberg) crying in the arms of his daughter

was maybe the most touching scene I've seen in a movie this year. Really, really liked it. O'Brien was also great. And, I've seen a lot of people saying the budget was way too big, and I tend to agree. But you can actually see the money on screen. I just wish this would've done more BO wise.

You do know it is half Awakenings budget right. And Its already on 45 million overseas. So yeah its good. And since this was very good some of the people will come back for the 6th. Thinking its another Awakening. But its just as good as the early Underworld movies.

La la land will get the biggest boost by far. I could see it getting 10+ nominations, and it's the front runner from what I've seen.

Best picture, director, screenplay, actress/actor, costume design, editing, sound mixing/editing, original score and song, cinematography. I could see it claiming 8.

I could see it winning everything it's up for except maybe Best Actor (that's between Affleck and Washington).
