The Help opened in the summer when it didn't really have Oscar buzz to piggyback on so no.

Plus, most of the GA doesn't know too much about who's the frontrunner to win.  At most, they see what's been nominated for a lot of Oscars and go watch those movies.

I think Patriots Day should have good legs, WoM seems especially strong from people who saw the movie.  I could see it pushing over 50-60m DOM.

I saw it and while it is quite good, it is very graphically violent which might be a turn off for some. I knew it would have violence but I didn't know it would be so graphic.

The Help benefited from Viola being the frontrunner to win. Until Streep did. There's a difference between movies that are just nominee fillers and movies that have an actual shot at major wins. The latter keep buzz alive for longer. We'll see. Right now, HF is doing gangbusters business.

The Help was on DVD two months before Oscar nominations.

Why do you guys hate universal healthcare again?

Not the politics thread

but the US doesn't have anything close to universal healthcare.  I definitely don't agree with repealing ACA, especially without an actual replacement plan.

Anyways, different people who dislike ACA dislike it for different reasons.  Some are business owners and it costs them money. Some are ignorant sheep who just listen to Fox News talking heads bash it so they do to.  Some are people who could already afford insurance, and it ended up raising their costs.  However, I'm assuming most of the hate from the GOP wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the fact that Obama was the one to get it made and passed.

EDIT: Move this to the CCT/politics please or ignore it.

Rogue Ones multiplier keeps multiplying! :yoda:

PS- most Zoological parks and Aquariums provide research for effective conservation of species and habitat. Some of you are so utterly brainwashed and unable to think for yourselves it is laughable. Don't step on any ants today lest you lose your minds.

La La Land really is killing it.  I'm thinking it expands again next weekend, but should see its first (small) drop?  Maybe?

It'll increase again after Oscar nominations.

In your biased opinion with no factual evidence except being brainwashed by pop-culture media and MSNBC, you forgot that some of us might oppose the ACA because we are in the healthcare industry, I run a drug and alcohol rehab center, and are having a hard time getting help for people because deductibles and out of pocket expenses have become so out of control that we have to turn patient after patient away.

Its become a nightmare.  I want a replacement that works.  And it has nothing to do with being anti-Obama. We literally have clients coming in with 15,000 in out-of-pocket expense that they have to meet before it will pay.  That's useless to them.

Now back to box-office.?

America: the country were everyone cares about their personal interest. (even if the cost is human lives)

The so-called ACA put many small businesses out of business which led to loss of economic independence and destroyed lives. Very unhealthy and one of the main causes of increased drug abuse, crime and suicides.

PS- this is the BO thread.
