Tracking has the $65M budgeted production –Affleck’s biggest as director– opening at $10M stateside. Pic is also going out in a number of foreign territories this weekend including Russia and the U.K.

Tricky genre, poor reviews, a muted and unpersuasive marketing campaign, a boatload of competition, and a rather dismal performance in limited release. The writing was on the wall, pretty much.

Absolutely, I agree that smaller films are disproportionately hurt by it. However, the piracy thread (to me at least) seemed to talk about big films and the industry as a whole. Like how if everyone who torrented Furious 7 paid to see the movie, it would have made even more money.
