Not sure about a 30% bump on Tuesday atm.

Many Superhero films released on the first week of may do not get very large first-Tuesday bumps.

The pattern that we should be looking here is how it will perform during the 2nd weekend. Especially Saturday and Sunday.

Maybe because the people who want to see a big superhero movie early are not going to wait for the first Tuesday? We will see tomorrow if that applies here.

What should we expect in terms of Tuesday grosses? An small increase (under 5%),  a small decrease, or an +20% Tuesday? For GV2.

Civil War fell less than 69% on its first Monday for $13.3m

Was the Sunday number so awesome so as to justify this?

Civil War Sunday: -31%

Civil War Monday: -69%

GotG Sunday: -23%

GotG Monday: -75%

The numbers line up pretty well. AoU dropped -74% after a terrific Sunday hold as well (though one could argue said hold was because of muted Saturday numbers).

I don't think it's a solid number or a bad number or a great number or horrible number. I think Monday's pretty much fall into the same pattern all the time.

Just bumping this again.

CW was also on Mother's Day weekend too.

That is also an exaggeration. Its just a normal blockbuster monday drop. Avengers had a great drop.

Yeah nothing great about it, literally at all. In fact I would argue that number sucks hard. The Phantom Menace made more than that on its first non-holiday Monday almost 20 years ago with no IMAX, no 3D, not 4,000 theaters, and much lower ticket prices. Look at the list and how the hell does even LEGO Batman beat Guardians 2's Monday? Great Monday? LOL wow pass the weed. That number sucks!!

Mother's Day  either was indifferent to or hurt CW - as indicated by it's normalish Sunday and Monday drops in comparison to other movies out that w/e.

AOU's 11% Sunday drop was an obvious course correction for Saturday (thatdamnfighfight)

Lego Batman has a $10M Monday due to President's Day Weekend.
