Not when MLP is $2/ticket...plus, Bronies probably want to publicly support the movie, not hide...

What about former bronies who are curious?

I would like seriously hide!

I remember years ago reading a post from an angry dad who took his daughter to a My Little Pony screening and was complaining that it was filled with men in their 30s who kept yelling inappropriate things during the film.

lmao the multiplex I frequent won't even be getting My Little Pony this weekend (it's a 20-screen that is currently has half the theaters closed because they're renovating to recliners on one side). Obviously they're limited in what they can show but still, it must be tracking pretty bad if they had the option to not show it and chose it.

My 1st local is up and again, they look like they are planning last minute again...for now, they've only allocated 10.5 screens, so I'd look for more foreign films to be booked last minute or if they fall through, something already booked getting extra showings...here's the list...screens in parentheses...(notice the large amount of holdovers not kept)...

NEW

Spyder (2) (not kidding - this is getting the most screens of any movie this weekend)

American Made (1) (dropped to smallest theater type, like Flatliners, after its sales return - it did not start in this size on Monday)

Flatliners (1)

Battle of the Sexes (1)

Returning

Kingsman (2)

Ninjago (1)

It (1)

American Assassin (1)

Jai Lava Kusa (.5)

Dropped - Friend Request, mother!, Home Again, Hitman's Bodyguard, one of last week's foreign indies

Okay, 1st local is up...

They have Blade Runner 2049 on 2 screens, but its 8 showings are 5 2d, 3 real d showings.  Weirdly, they say the 7pm showing Friday is sold out, but it was never for sale before now, so I don't know if it got bought out or it's a Fandango error.  They also have MLP on a single screen for 5 showings.  Here's the full list...

NEW

Blade Runner (2)

MLP (1)

Chef (1)

The Mountain Between Us (1)

Returning

It (1)

American Made (1)

Flatliners (1)

Kingsmans (1)

Lego Ninjago (1)

Foreign Fare (2) (Spyder, Judwaa 2, Manahubtoomanyletters share)

Gone American Assassin, Battle of the Sexes (only got 1 week - WOW), 1 Foreign Fare...

When they add new shows it sometimes first shows up as a sell out since I guess it's not properly set up yet.

Apart of IT, obviously, Horror movies are extremely walkup movies, especially the ones that appeals to teens girls, that usually go with group of friends, the reason why Annabelle: Creation over-performed was because groups of teen girls showed up in droves, I can see the same happening with HDD.

Reviews are what really sealed the deal for this year's horror breakouts. Let's see what kind Happy Death Day gets (the movie actually looks kinda fun so I might check it out myself if it gets decent notices).
