Deep Wang updates:

- Kingsman at about 75% of Apes

- Ninjago at about 90% of Boss Baby

- American Made is low

- Flatliners is non existent

Following exactly The Boss Baby would give 45m.

But then there is the doubt whether Ninjago being a part of a franchise with a following may mean that it will be more frontloaded.

I would say about $40m. Maybe less.

Ninjago and Kingsman both will cater to comedy fans. Ninjago despite being an animated film also caters to adults like other Lego movies. Wonder if the overlap is a big enough to cause each other some damage.

Fair point about Ninjago being a franchise with an audience, but unlike Lego Batman, Ninjago doesn't have as much frontloadedness because it's not tapping into a heavy fandom. I think it'll be more walkup driven than Batman was. Over 40 is possible, I would say.

True but it should be noted that Ninjago like most Lego IPs has a fanbase.

It does indeed, but I don't think it'll influence the previews/OD so much that the overall OW will fall under 40M due to frontloadedness. The Ninjago toys themselves, as one of Lego's best selling brands, should create widespread appeal throughout all younger ages.

I am still skeptical. The competition is dead so it may really benefit from this but at the same time I feel that If Lego Batman did "just" $50m, this may end up poorly. Batman was one of the most overpredicted movies of this year by far. Everyone went nuts and in the end it was a disapointment.

What I am seeing right now is $35-40m as I said.

I think it is safe to assume that it will be more presales heavy than an original with little adult appeal like Boss Baby...

To be fair, I think Boss Baby had some adult appeal. Lot of people thought Trump and Alec Baldwin.

Welll... I don't really think so. Even If it had it isn't even close to the adult appeal that Lego movies have.

I think it made it very clear from the first moment that it's target audience was kids..

Still enjoyed it a lot though! It was really funny :P

I agree...Lego Batman was an amazing movie and the 1st sequel...I'm not sure Ninjago will have either of these qualities (definitely not 1st sequel:), although I guess its timing is much better (both for lack of family movies and the bigger Moviepass membership base and current Fandango deals)...so, predicting above or even at Lego Bats isn't something I would do...

I've got a Casino bet that Kingsman wins the weekend...so anyone who is high on Lego Ninjago (or high on It or low on Kingsman) could grab it:)...

Lego Batman was a mess. I don't think it's  hard - have better quality than L:B. But may be Ninjago will give us a big surprise...

Not sure what movie you watched...but except for feeling about 5-10 minutes long (a better cut in the last 1/3 might have helped), it's a home run.  If you love the characters, it hits the sweet spot as a perfect homage to the entire Batman mythos from its beginning to now...And to have the 1st awesome take of Robin in a theatrical release (yes, he's been seen before...but here, he's not the joke:))...priceless!

I gave Lego Bats an A- when I saw it...and I don't think Lego Ninjago is gonna have A- quality if the previews are indicative of the movie...it just seems like it's trying a little hard in those previews...

L:B has too much .... exposed moral, if you catch my drift. It doesn't feel like "all-in-on" movie, just a few pieces be set up together.
