Mulan, Home Again, and SMH have sold nothing.

 

Ninjago is looking fucking dire during the day. Only two shows during the day have sold anything (6 for a noon-ish 3D show and 1 at my early afternoon show). There's basically zero adult appeal here. Given Ninjago doesn't have previews, I won't be surprised if It beats it today.

 

Kingsman comps:

 

185% of THB

165% of AA

50% of It

 

I'm still a little concerned about Kingsman because 55% of its sales are coming from the first show and main evening shows

What's a good preview number for Kingsman2 .... 3m?

 

Kingsman1 did 26x the previews over the OW (1.4 => 36.2). If this one can do 15x accounting for sequelitis and the usual yearly increase in frontloading in thursday previews, 3m should give 45m.

Power Rangers was also a younger skewing film. 3M puts 40M and maybe even 35M in danger.

But PR had a bigger fanbase and will likely be more frontloaded of the two.

Agreed.  Actually think power rangers previews crowd was not kids, but adults who grew up on it and that it would.be way more frontloaded than most anything

no man, that one did 40 ow / 85 dom so was a very front-loaded film overall. surely the previews reflected that.

Yeah I'm sure after the power rangers nostalgia crowd (late 20s, early 30s) rushed in then it skewed young, but group A MUCH bigger than group B so very frontloaded.

8-4 for Friend Request vs mother! - maybe it can pull out a win this weekend:)...

 

Both of those numbers are so low, though...I don't see either movie keeping a lot screens and/or showings next weekend...

FWIW that showing of FR is ending with two while the mother! showing in 5 minutes has one seat. Progress!  

 

I don't expect FR to maintain a full screen at the vast majority of theaters next weekend. If Entertainment Studios lets theaters drop it next week (unlikely), it'll likely lose 1k+ theaters

It's unknown what kind of release Annapurna is gonna give it, though I imagine it'll be in the 600-800 theater area at best.
