Isn't there a Little Women movie coming out in 2019? What is this Little Women that's coming out this weekend....

Reminds me of all the movies that are coming out that are centered around Sharon Tate

Yes, it's Greta Gerwig's follow-up to Lady Bird and stars a whole bunch of famous people (including the guy in that gif).

This is the version coming out this weekend lmao:

Little Women 2018 features Lea Thomson and is distributed by Pure Flix.

Little Women 2019 is directed by Greta Gerwig, stars Meryl and Saoirse, as well as stars Timothee Chalamet, the most beautiful man in the world and a gift from God, and is being distributed by Sony.

Obviously this year's Little Women is the bigger deal.

The 2019 sounds like a flop tbh The moment the overrated Meryl Streep became attached to it, it was doomed. Sad!

From LAT:

Hart and Haddish’s PG-13-rated “Night School” and Warner Bros.’ snowy animated film “Smallfoot” are both expected to gross a solid $25 million to $30 million in ticket sales in the U.S. and Canada from Friday through Sunday, according to industry projections.

Thinking Night School does $35M, due to lack of comedies outside of CRA, strong marketing and potential audience underestimation.

Smallfoot, I think about the same as Clock as it plays to a more younger audience than Clock. If reviews stay at 70%, maybe $30M OW.

So far I would also put Night School (production budget 29M as I learned from boxofficemojo) in front of Smallfoot with both beeing quite successful this weekend.

5 minutes of Pulse counting two hours ago showed Smallfoot in front:
Smallfoot: 46 - House With a Clock had 60 same day and time of the day
Night School: 31
Hell Fest: not terrible 12

Now Night School has overtaken:
Night School: 54 - I think that's pretty good but the only comedy comparison I have so far is The Happytime Murders which had only 14 same day and time of the day
Smallfoot: 31 - The House With a Clock had 40 same day and daytime, so Smallfoot is again a little bit behind, Christopher Robin had 48
Hell Fest: 7

I think Small Foot does like $23M and Night School does $25-$26M with the latter having the potential to breakout if audiences enjoy it. Small Foot is getting the short end of the stick because it's coming right after The House With a Clock In Its Walls which I think will lower its Box Office OW potential

Night School 30m+

House 10.6m

Smallfoot 23-27m

Hellfest 5-9m

Little Women 2-4m

A kids/family movie dropping 60% in September? Sure, it's horror, and sure, Smallfoot's coming out, but even in their wake, that seems way too big of a drop for House.
