how could WW win Summer? it won't earn much more than 325m total domestic with a 90m+ opening , it may not even reach 300m

Could be a WOM legs thing if other big genre releases also disappoint.

It s crazy how some markets aren't crazy with space movies.

Just look at the Dom/OS ratio of Guardians 2, Star Trek Franchise, Star WarsFranchise etc

Guardians Vol2 could have been a B$ WW grosser if some OS markets responded better to the genre.

I wonder if Interstellar did better than those films in the markets you're thinking of....

I'm alone in my Dunkirk prediction. It's okay. When the weekend comes, I will be avenged. Or not.

It could. Stranger things have happened. I didn't want to watch the last trailer and saw it before Pirates and wasn't as impressed as the first trailer. I dunno about it yet.

A 2.4x isn't great for any movie, and for a blockbuster, it's pretty weak! These are the multis of other June 2013 movies:

This is the End: 4.9x

The Heat: 4.08x

MU: 3.26x

WWZ: 3.05x

White House Down: 2.94x

The Internship: 2.58x

The Purge: 1.89x

Saw The Big Sick tonight. Fantastic movie, absolutely hilarious and very heartfelt. I hope it does very well. Also Kumail and Emily Gordon were there for a Q&A.

Good to hear! Lionsgate is going to screw this movie's release so bad :sadben:

If you look at the August OW chart, Suicide Squad's "OW % of total" looks pretty bad.

Of the higher grossing releases (not going through the entire list bcuz I'm tired), the only higher ones are The Last Exorcism, AVP, and FANT4STIC. Sad!

To me, there seems to be a weird disconnect between Wonder Woman's glowing reviews, the enthusiastic response the movie is getting among most BOT members and the OW it is currently  heading for, which is not bad by any means but you understand me I think.

I wonder if the movie is truly special and can develop abnormal, super strong legs and fly past 300m ...

It's honestly a movie that could go wide right away. There is definitely a big audience out there for this. It could certainly do 60m+ if marketed correctly, but I somehow doubt it will get close to that.

Since I go to theaters a few times a year I did a lot of blind buys.  But I have curbed that the last few years.  I mean there's no fucking way I was buying Independence Day Resurgence

ID:R is the best comedy from 2016. The performances are porn parody levels though.

Lionsgate honestly should put it wide on the 23rd. Focus isn't learning how weak that weekend is and is doing a platform release on The Beguiled. Transformers should not be opening by itself.
