It's gonna loose many screens, since SpiderMan may need them.

I see but i was hoping that Diana could reach $400 million domesticly... it looks like she won't.

He didnt predict a terrible drop. He was simply saying how much it will make if it follows the same drops as SS and MoS. Relax

But is it possible that the movie could surprise us all and have a smaller than expected drop?!

Yeah, that's a very disappointing opening for DM3. A movie can be a big success and still be disappointing. This is one of those cases.

This. I don't care about whether it makes a profit (unless it's an indie where it needs the money to sustain the studio) or foreign gross (never left the country, don't even know the first thing about exchange rates), I care about how domestic box office does in relation to reasonable potential. Weigh what it has going for it, what is has going against it, and think of a good range for what it can do. DM3 should have made at least 80m this weekend all things considered. I predicted 95m. That's my standard.

I legitimately don't know how they could keep it cheap without haviing the CGI look like crap.

Wouldn't one Bumblebee and a couple of CGI villains cost less than the hundreds of giant robots Bay throws on screen?

Here's the thing for all those picking so many films to be enormous next summer...the summer DOM BO from 1 May to Labor Day is only gonna be worth roughly a max of $5B...if you start taking all your movies and subtracting from this value, what do you have left for EVERY OTHER MOVIE released in that time frame?  And $5B is optimistic, since it's never gone that high, but I think it could be doable (since 2013 got close), although something closer to $4.5B might be a better place to start...

It has already surprised everyone and its drops have so far been almost always lower than expected. It will continue to have good legs.

If you are asking if it will hold better than SS and MoS going forward then yes it undoubtedly will.

All of them are gonna suffer the wrath of Deadpool 2.

Deadpool 2 is gonna make $2B all on its own. That's only $3B left. I guess the rest are gonna have to share.

Yet, it's still  a massive disappointment to the Chinese market.  It will gross $90-100m less than the last and they paid  $100m to Paramount (great for them) for the rights thinking it would blow past $400m and make the deal worthwhile.

Sneaky Paramount knew they had a lemon, lol.

I'm actually starting to think Incredibles 2 has a legitimate shot of doing $500M domestic.

I'm sure it'll do well, but lets not go that far yet. At least I'd wait until we see how well-received the film will be.

Great for Baby Driver.

I always said it looked like a critical darling that would make Nice Guy numbers.

But look at it go! Well done!

It's a very accessible film. Exciting action, and nice music. No wonder it did well.
