Opening against Deadpool 2 may be good counterprogramming but I wonder how it would far against Incredibles 2.

It would probably be destroyed. Wouldn't be a wise move to release it against an animated film anyway.

It likely won't cost much either.

At best I expect its budget to be at least as big as Lego Batman

I meant as in that Incredibles 2 opens two weeks after it (like CU and C3). I think the budget will probably be like CU at most (<$40M) and $5M-$10M at least.

I don't think it'll cost that much, if it's 2D animated which I think it will be then it'll more like $10-20m or whatever My Little Pony's budget is. Cheap enough to make a profit and act as promo for the TV series.

Even if it's CGI, I think WB will partner with Mikros like Dreamworks did with CU and Paramount did with Gnomes for a budget under $40M.

Ah okay, that makes more sense.

True, it'll probably use 2D animation as well, just with the style of the shorts instead.

That's way too much. I can see one or more of these movies underperforming/flopping due to over saturation...

And they announced a few days before Comic Con. That'd make some bank and I wonder how @Cochofles and @TwoMisfits would feel about that.

The product seems to be a good age 3-9 comic starter...it would probably be the same in theater.  I think it could pull Cars 3 DOM BO type numbers probably at best (since that's a movie with equivalent age group and fan base, just for boys)...but Cars 3 numbers - heck even CU numbers - would make them a nice tidy profit:)...

I admit, in my house, my girls prefer the "real thing" and read Squirrel Girl, Justice League, Teen Titans, and Titans (plus My Little Pony and Brianna the Chef - a really good 4 part comic from an Indy if you haven't seen it - heck, I liked that one and stole it from their pile:)...but if they had been younger when the series started, they might have gotten hooked (instead, back then, with Spongebob and MLP, they read Tiny Titans, Superman Family, and Batman '66 (and DC Super Pets) to get started into supers before they moved to "older" material:)...

I'm gonna star a club here instead of open another thread!

The title would be AND JULY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!!!! This club would be a combination of several target!!

Next weekend:

1) Dunkirk, will show full power of Tomato Law!! come in above tracking!!! OW>Gravity OW!!

2) Apes, the Smallest dip of 2nd weekend in the rebooted trilogy, 2nd weekend drop< -49.2%

3) SMH 3rd weekend drop < 50%!!!

4) WW, the smallest weekend drop to date! <-29.5%

*Valerian, it has been a intense discussion for this movie, so I'll skip........

A single one failure of the target above will make the club failed, tell me which of the above will likely be the culprit!

In this case, everybody happy!! and lived happily ever after!! cinema experience will be long lasting!!

OUT...Most likely to fail would be the one I bet WrathofHan in the casino - Apes...2nd most likely to fail due to lack of screens/showings (even if they are getting $17.50/average ticket) would be Dunkirk...3rd most likely to fail would be WW b/c even with the help from Dunkirk, she's losing a certain non-trivial # of theaters this weekend...and 4th is Spidey, but even that one is 50-50 to fail, since while it won't lose theaters, it will probably lose a screen at most theaters...

But I like the club - that's a total optimist's club:)...if forced to bet, I'd probably say 3 of 4 fail:)...but then again, I don't want 3 of 4 to fail, so I'll hope you hit on all 4 and I'm being too pessimistic:)...

"It's time for the Jedi...to end" Justice League over Star Wars: The Last Jedi, worldwide club.

I find the above thread/club is way more optimistic

I can only take much “hey we're actually gonna give you some fun high school stuff... JK nope here's some more dull spiderman shit" grates me to no end.

That's what Power Rangers should have been.
