WrathOfHan
That's a 29% increase for It and a ~45% increase for Ninjago. I expected 1.1M for the latter yesterday, but that It increase is pretty weak; PLFs weren't holding it down.

narniadis
Yeah, those special showings - particularly Jeepers 3 would have bit into the other films (non-family) last night. Overall though it is still a solid increase for IT.

JB33
That's....not a great increase for IT, at least by Tuesday standards of late. Ah well, I'm just waiting for IT to hit $300M.
a2k
46% bump for Lego to 1.1m. Storks jumped 39% to 1.28m. Discount Tuesdays seem to have gotten bigger each passing week so their Wed gap could be big like the Monday gap (0.76m vs 0.92m). Storks fell 37% on Wed to 0.8m. dxmatrixdt
does anyone know how much it costs per print of a film? Assume Jeepers Creepers had 3 showings at 7:00pm at a particular theater. That means the theater ordered 3 prints, right? How much is paid? Does the studio have to pay $1,000 per print to be made, and then the theater negotiates a price? how does this work? anyone? Aren't most theaters digital and could get it send via the internet in a protected file?

A print + is shipping can come up at around 2,000$ by screen. Spider Man 3 for example domestic prints budget was 27.1m, openned in 4,324 theater, say 3 screen by theater average (with replacement, etc...) and it was $2,089 by screen.

I assume the whole one-day-only Tuesday release thing might be out of artistic respect for the movie itself (which, in this day and age, could have not even been released), but also moral respect for people who wouldn't like to see someone like Victor Salva.... succeed, necessarily.
