I've met lots of celebrities because  I was a bartender/waiter in Toronto for 15 years of my life. 

 

But yea, it was a very cool experience.  But no, it's not something i rave about.  "Meeting" sTallone and my 15 minutes with Bryan Brown were the highlights of that article.  Brown was just so accommodating.  He loved talking about movies.

Roland Emmerich's 2012 is the cheesiest and most can't-take-it-seriously self-serious socio-political satire ever made. But mah Gawd, these videos are hilarious and kinda nostalgic for me, cause I saw them way back in the day and they still hold up to this very present (God bless Woody Harrelson):

Glad to see Kim getting trashed again. It has started being annoying that suddenly everyone started liking her. She and her family represent an autrocious lifestyle; basically everything that is wrong with our society.

Everyone is mad about Kanye but she deserves far more backlash.

That was one of my favorite parts of the movie   Tom McCarthy (a great director - Spotlight was excellent - but a pretty bad actor btw... at least that was the impression I got from this movie) got crushed to death by an unstable Noah's ark, Amanda Peet screams about it when she sees it.... and then literally nobody gives a fuck after. What the hell

 

The whole script of the movie is a collection of what the hell-ness, and I didn't feel like the movie knew if it wanted me to take the whole end of the world seriously or if it was just a satirical comedy of current day governments. The one memorable character was basically a caricature of tinfoil hat weilders and everyone else was either likeable enough cause they were played by a strong cast, or just.... there to be killed by an earthquake or whatever other destruction porn gimmicks were in this film. But hey, the CGI was dope as fuck, so there's that.

 

(Day After Tomorrow was even stupider but at least it was also a lot more fun. That's all I'm gonna say )

Not only does it add so much to A New Hope (I'm re-watching that one right now) but it feels like classic Star Wars while also still feeling like something new. It really does strike a sort of balance between honouring the originals but also being something new. It's also damn entertaining.

 

Also, the last 30 minutes or so are some of the best Star Wars put to screen period. Obviously not THE best, but it's up there.
