Coco will be fine; it's the first animated movie worth a damn since the summer and Disney.

I agree but it can see so many scenarios for it. Tangled/Ratatouille seem fair.

For the sake of this forum I hope Justice League is a decent film.

I hope it's awful so the forum burns down and I can just sit back and watch.  Chaos reigns.

Can't wait until next summer when Incredibles 2 is three weeks away from release (when Disney will be releasing Solo) and everyone asks "where's the marketing?!"

Incredibles 2 will be marketed like everywhere.

Thor is selling like gangbusters near me but I will say as an advocate for "sports affecting ratings" this is the most insane day of college football in a long time. Seven matchups between ranked teams, across all regions and with large, traditional fanbases. Gonna be a big day for sports ratings. At least NFL ratings won't hurt anything till the Superbowl, though,

I realize mother! bombed and I get that Passengers and Joy also flopped/underperformed, but yikes at JLaw interviewing Kim K on late night TV and kissing her ass. Her and her team must be panicked over the state of her career if she has to resort to "relatably" interviewing a reality star on TV for attention.

As soon as she starts talking about her farts I had to stop it. I was painful.

What do you want her to do with Kim? Publicly shaming her?

I think she did a pretty good job at the interview considering how horrible Kim was.

She asked questions that normal person want to ask and manage to keep the interview lighthearted. And judging by Youtube views, a lot of people agree with me

To those saying Thor won't have the screen space when JL opens, this is what I expect my 12-plex theater to have that weekend:

Justice League x4

Thor x3

The Star

Wonder

Orient Express

Daddy's Home 2

Bad Moms Christmas

There's no reason for it to be down to one screen when it'll still be over 20M and there are still October holds to get rid of. I expect it to lose the additional screens over Thanksgiving along with one JL screen and Bad Moms leaving for two Coco screens, Roman Israel, and Lady Bird (if Three Billboards expands or Man Who Invented Christmas actually goes wide, take away another JL screen).

Their rules for Jedi for theaters.

It's not just Jedi. Jedi is the extreme, but they'll even impose restrictions on Born in China comparable to a huge blockbuster from another studio.

What were restrictions on Born in China?  That at least five people had to be at every showing for the movie or else one of your employees dies?

I’m guessing what he said for Katwe. The two week engagement at a large auditorium

Same people who were complaining about WW having no marketing!

A lot of people will have egg on their face when Coco has a solid opening. It’ll likely do in five days what The Star will do in total!

Not sure why you had to bring up The Star but Coco will have a solid opening ($65M-$75M) but personally the marketing and trailer views has been a bit lackluster.

Just some very strict and dumb pass restrictions. If something was not paid for with money it could not be used. So a Recovery pas for example, which is given out for example if a projector bulb explodes or the power goes out or anything that interrupts or ends the movie for a guest, could not be used for Born in China UNLESS the pass was given out AT another Disney film. However there's nothing on the passes that say that so we personally have to explain it to every customer who tries to use one. Same with any sort of vouchers that are given out as prizes, through the school's or other businesses etc. Again, the problem is that nothing specifies that they cannot be used for disney movies so poor little Me has to look like the bad guy telling people why I can't even put it in the computer.

Actually I will admit that Born in China has been the only Disney film I have seen only play for one week. Regardless, we still weren't allowed to split it with anything that week, so it played to 50% no shows and te other times the auditoriums were 5-10% full at best.
