It's a dumb comparison since MIB3 TA lost most of the steam while Avatar didn't until AIW.

AVATAR had Sherlock Holmes and Alvin to compete with, TA Dark Shadows, Battle Ship and MiB3.Of course I chose a weekend where TA looks very puny indeed.

MEXICO CITY -- Marvel's superhero extravaganza The Avengers has become the first film to surpass the box office milestone of $200 million in Latin America, making it the region's highest-grossing picture ever.

The Avengers eclipsed James Cameron's Avatar and Titanic, Latin America's previous record holders.

Here in Mexico, the territory's top moviegoing market, the Disney release has raked in more than $60 million after six weeks in theaters; it now stands as Mexico's most successful title ever above Toy Story 3.

Marvel's The Avengers: $7.8 million from 54 territories representing 95% of the market. International cume = $824.4 million. Worldwide cume = $1,396,300,000.

OS week had a 28% drop. If it continues to hold this strong it may end somewhere between $860M and $870M.
