in 2020 The Rock is running for President

I hope The Rock realizes that running for political office and winning means that it will kill his acting career, just look at Arnold.

He should do 10 more years of acting while in his prime and make as much money as possible before even thinking about politics.

Flop or no flop, its running about 420 million OS more and 330 DOM more

750 Million PLUS, lol

Don't give me the "but it's Star Wars!" it SHOULD

nope, you lose that argument when you called it a flop

I think China will even-out the OS number a little bit.

"From the Director of The Post"? I'd think they'd just go with "From Steven Spielberg".

Even in the Fallen Kingdom teaser "From Executive Producer Steven Spielberg" pops up soon enough.

EDIT: I ended up making a dupe club (The Post over RPO dom). DAJK made it first and it's a great club

This gave me an idea though:

I would not have thought so after the first trailer for RPO but the second trailer for it looked like absolute garbage due to the additional plot elements that were included. Granted, The Post is going to need a lot of awards season love but RPO is looking far less invincible than it did a couple of months ago.

+1

WRT final grosses, The Last Jedi Squashes a phenomenal box office total of Jumanji like a bug. But people use 4th weekend figures of TLJ to define its overall performance. Context matters.

But it is also a testament to the enduring dominance of Star Wars that even at 41 years of age, being the biggest hit of the year and grossing over $600 M Domestic (though there is some potential lost here) can be considered an under performance.

If Jumanji's prod budget is actually 90m, it's gonna do 8-9x that ww. If it can match current expectations in China and approach 150m, then GOTG2 and SMH are not safe on the global 2017 charts.

I actually connected with RPO's 2nd trailer more than the first one. But still may find it tough to get traction from certain narrow demographics. It looks a like a costly film to make and hope it breaks even. Any news on what it's prod budget might be? Googled it and wiki has it at 355m, which I think is a bogus number unless it includes marketing and release costs.

I think TLJ is amazing and that RJ did a great job giving us something different from the same old same old. I look forward to seeing what he does with that trilogy.

RJ had good ideas, but his execution was poor, i have no expectations for Episode IX which is scary and exciting at the same time.

Worrisome is i think Lucasfilm does not have an overall gameplan for the next ten years

Jumanji will be Black's highest grosser, Hart's highest live action, and Johnson's highest leading role (2nd highest overall). I'd definitely think all three will want in on the sequel.

Also a Karen Gillan role that doesn't require her to be sitting for hours to put on blue alien cyborg makeup. She will be back too.
