The huge $100M+ predictions for the weekend have been confusing me all week. 110 or 120? Where are people getting those drops from?

Real life, apparently.

(I'm sorry this was petty)

Spring break is coming soon as well. I was thinking about 700M this morning with 104M and now it's looking at 110M+, Avatar potentially is the target now!!!

Avatar really does seem possible. Meanwhile, gonna be a long, cold, and lonely next couple months with only me and my tent still in the IW>BP DOM camp. :ph34r::ph34r:

This is the second-best second Saturday ever, behind only The Force Awakens.

Indeed, the weekend as a whole is likely to be the second best behind only The Force Awakens' second weekend. With a 47.8M Saturday, Black Panther will need about a 37% drop or better on Sunday to achieve this.

This is clearly phenomenon level numbers that Black Panther is making, given The Force Awakens' is the only film to do better (during December holidays on years of built up nostalgia), and Black Panther is doing this in FEBRUARY coming off an inflated holiday opening weekend!

Peace,

Mike

Also it has me finally convinced Infinity War won't be beating Black Panther in North America. Going to be a bit boring following Infinity War when its drops will be closer to how Civil War, Iron Man 3 and Ultron did than the insane numbers of Black Panther.

I want to be a believer. But these numbers make it very hard.

Fri+Sat is ~77. If that were the FSS then it's a 62% drop from the OW. That's par for CBMs that open big especially if the ow is inflated due to holidays. DP dropped 57%.

The highest grossing film of all time came out in Feburary

Considering the other options this year it’s hard to believe Black Panther is the one coming out on top.

BP and Wakanda play an essential role in IW, this performance will only help IW.
