Holy shit @tawasal....I think we just became best friends.  You have Happy Hard On Harry on your list at number 22.

I simply love that movie.  Not only was Slater mesmerizing in that film but so was Mathis.  And I love the message in it.  So glad someone else sees the brilliance of Pump Up The Volume!

You have no idea how much I love that movie, it's like my religion. I watch it once every month now, that's how much I love it. And you are more than a friend to me baumer. ;)

Wow!  I'm stunned.  I'm seriously thrilled that you love it that much.  I will definitely watch it again this weekend.  I haven't seen it in years.

One of my favourite speeches in the film (there are so many well written scenes) is this one:

You hear about some kid who did something stupid, something desperate; what possessed him? How could he do such a terrible thing? Well, it's really quite simple, actually. Consider the life of a teenager - you have parents, teachers telling you what to do, you have movies, magazines and TV telling you what to do, but you know what you have to do. Your job, your purpose is to get accepted, get a cute girlfriend, think up something great to do with the rest of your life. What if you're confused and can't imagine a career? What if you're funny looking and can't get a girlfriend? You see, no-one wants to hear it. But the terrible secret is that being young is sometimes less fun than being dead.

His views on life are just so brilliant, imo.

@baumer there is something else we agree on I think. That's Zodiac as the best detective movie ever.

I liked it, not as much as you.  But I do like it a lot.

Everything about it is just perfection and it spoke to me so much, unlike any other movie I have ever seen. When ever he speaks you feel touched and that he is speaking to you and it's has one of the most casual love stories I have ever seen in a movie.

I read a review that said, "Rebel Without A Cause", for our generation.

I have not seen Pump Up the Volume in over 20 years. It was quite the rebellious movie back in the day. I am somewhat intrigued to see how it has held up since anybody with an opinion now has a podcast or a Twitter feed. Starting a pirate radio station now borders on nostalgic.

You should really rewatch it, it is as awesome at it was back then.

I remember really liking the soundtrack as well. I think I have the CD in a box somewhere. I may need to dig it out.
