Star Wars also got 12 more votes than Titanic, that's a considerable number of votes.  I was trying to balance quantity vs passion, and Titanic was more of a passion entry.

I love TDK and all, its a vastly superior CBM to anything else, but as a filmmaking achievement its just not up there with FOTR.  The real star of TDK is Heath Ledger and The Joker.  FOTR is pretty much a perfect film from the pitch perfect casting, pacing, costumes, production design, cinematography, music, and so on.
